Properties of various crystals

Clear Quartz is the best all-round healing stone. It's a good energy focus, with the tapering end and jagged base. It works with all 7 major chakras, and is especially good when several crystals are used at once.

Citrine promotes clarity of vision, and is thought to be linked with the Sun. This is a good stone to use when you need to think clearly and unimpeded.

Amethyst quietens the mind, and is a good stone to use for visualization. It's also a gentle but, like clear Quartz, good all-round healing stone.

Agate is a very stabilising crystal. It's a good absorber of negativity, as well as being very grounding/calming

Onyx is a good grounding stone, working well with the base chakra.

Moonstone makes excellent dream elixirs, and helps stress and anxiety, balacing the emotions.

Fluorite is a balancing stone that aids objective thought, and boosts the immune system.

Bloodstone is used for circulatory conditions and for healing the reproductive organs.

Lapis Lazuli is a stone for the Third eye chakra, stimulating psychic ability and spiritual awareness. It opens the mind to higher guidance and intuition, and strengtens the mind and body.

How to use crystals

Crystals can be used to aid other forms of energy healing, by channeling the energy through to the point of the crystal, or can be used on their own.
On their own
Crystals on their own are most useful when used to create elixirs. A cyrstal elixir is essentialy water infused with the qualities of the crystal. Before you infuse water with a crystal's qualities, you first need to cleanse the crystal, removing negative emotions picked up over time. This can be done with all 4 elements (Fire, water, wind and Earth) but the easiest to use is water. To prepare the water, either use seawater (symbolic of the energy returning to the sea) or normal water with sea salt in it. Hold the crystal in your hand, and imagine black, dirty energy leaving it, flowing away into the water. Hold this for at least 3-4 minutes, before placing the crystals in the water, and leaving in direct sunlight or moonlight all day or night. Remove the crystal from the water, and tip the water away into running water. Something natural like a stream is best, but even a flushing toilet will do at a pinch. Your crystal is now cleansed and ready to be programmed. Again, hold the crystal in your hand, and visualize all the qualities you want of the crystal (E.g. healing, spiritual awareness etc.)flowing into it, or imagine it being used for the attainment of those qualities. You should use a crystal that naturally has the qualities you need, as listed above. Hold this for about 5 minutes, then place into clean water. (NOT the water you used to cleanse it with) Once done, imagine those same qualities going into the water, and place it in direct moonlight or sunlight for an hour or more. To store this water, put it in a blue glass bottle or other containter, or just drink it straightaway. (The purpose of moonlight/sunlight is that only the sun has enough energy to push the vibrations out of the crystal, added to the force of your will. )

Alternatively they can be used when meditating - just hold them in your hand, and use your imagination when it comes to visualizing with them.
